The Big Island welcomes us with rain. A nice change to the otherwise very hot weather. The main attraction here is the Volcanoes National Park. Unfortunately, lava isn't flowing here anymore but the landscape full of craters, lava and the corresponding vegetation invites for long hikes nonetheless. On the other side of the island, it is hot and dry again so we welcome the opportunity to hop in the water to swim with rays. It became a very close and unforgettable encounter!

Die 'Grosse Insel' empfängt uns mit Regen, den wir nach der Hitze sehr begrüssen. Die Hauptattraktion auf dieser Insel sind die Vulkane. Auch wenn leider keine fliessende Lava mehr zu sehen ist, bietet die Natur mit den vielen Kratern, der Lava und entsprechenden Vegetation ein wunderbares Schauspiel. Auf der anderen Seite der Insel ist es wieder heiss und trocken. Umso lieber springen wir daher ins Meer um mit Rochen zu schwimmen. Eine unvergessliche Begegnung!
